ADHD
Does your child hav a short attention span, difficulty sitting still, and often get into trouble for "blurting out?" Is he impulsive, engaging in dangerous behavior, and always on the go? Does she lose things she needs for school and daydream a lot? Is he capable of playing his favorite video game for hours, but can't seem to pay attention to a reading assignment for even a few minutes? These are characteristics consistent with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Dr. Paul helps families develop routines, organizational skills, and problem-solving strategies to help children succeed. For children whose attention and behavior problems interfere with their relationships, Dr. Paul also runs social skills training groups to help them learn pro-social behaviors so that they can enjoy their friendships.
Research shows that adults can suffer from Attention Deficits, too. Many children can outgrow the hyperactivity portion of ADHD, but attention problems, distractibility, and poor organization follow them into college and the workplace. Dr. Paul helps adults develop coping strategies to best fit their lives.
